What is Surface Protection Tape: The Tapes

Knowing the ‘what’ and ‘how long’ of your surface protection tape needs makes it easy to match a high-performance tape to your task.

Here’s an at-a-glance overview of tested and proven protection tapes….

Bulldog Board Tape

✔ Where to use it: Purpose-designed to seam Bulldog Board products to other Bulldog Board products, Bulldog Board Tape offers peerless staying power.

✘ Where NOT to use it: The tape’s strong adhesive means it should never be used on other surfaces as there’s a risk of residue or even damage.

Armour Tape

✔ Where to use it: Ever-popular and multi-purpose! Use Armour Tape to hold temporary surface protection materials in place and together. Ideal for floors, windows and more thanks to 60 days of clean removal and UV resistance. Available in 2” and 3” wide form.

✘ Where NOT to use it: Not for use where extra breathability, fire resistance, or longer (more than 60 days) clean removal will be needed.

Masking Tape

✔ Where to use it: Low tack and can be stuck onto walls and more, plus it can be used around doorways or delicate surfaces such as painted surfaces. Stronger adhesive tapes can be stuck to the Masking Tape.

✘ Where NOT to use it: Do not use it to hold temporary surface protection products in place.

Clean Green Tape

✔ Where to use it: Because it takes clean removal to a new level – 180 days indoors and 60 days outdoors – as an ‘edge tape’ Clean Green Tape holds temporary surface protection products in place securely.

✘ Where NOT to use it: For short-term jobsites where Armour Tape would offer a long enough duration of clean removal.

Armour Tape – FR

✔ Where to use it: A high-performance tape specifically made to compliment the Armour Protection Board – FR. Use Armour Tape – FR for high-heat areas, or areas close to sparks, offers a complete fire-rated solution.

✘ Where NOT to use it: Not cost-effective for areas where no fire rating need exists.

Bulldog Board Tape – Breathable

✔ Where to use it: Created for floors, such as poured concrete or hardwood, susceptible to damage post-install, Bulldog Board Tape – Breathable avoids the appearance of lines caused by the wrong type of tape being used.

✘ Where NOT to use it: Not cost-effective for floors with no need for a breathable solution.

Armour Multi-Use Protection Tape

✔ Where to use it: A protective film in its own right, Armour Multi-Use Protection Tape is applied directly to finished surfaces for a layer of protection.
